What it was

A movement born on the American frontier that sought to overcome denominational divisions by returning to the New Testament pattern of the church, without creeds as a test of fellowship. The Churches of Christ, the Disciples of Christ and the Christian Churches come from it.

Little known

Unlike many evangelicals, the Stone-Campbell movement celebrates the Lord’s Supper every Sunday and closely links baptism with the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38).
