Who he was
The first major Christian author in Latin, whose theological vocabulary (e.g. trinitas, persona, substantia) shaped the whole Western tradition. Later in life he moved toward Montanism, so he is not usually venerated as a saint, though he is widely cited as a witness to the faith of his time.
