What it decided

Condemned and deposed Paul of Samosata, bishop of Antioch, whose Christology is usually classed as dynamic monarchianism (Jesus as a man indwelt by God's Word or Wisdom). According to later sources, the synod rejected the term homoousios in the sense Paul used it. Paul refused to leave the see until Emperor Aurelian intervened (c. 272).
